Misconceptions Regarding Vehicle Tracking |
| October, 2009 | |
More and more companies are considering introducing vehicle tracking to their business. Unfortunately, some companies do not pursue a purchase or enquire further as they have a misconception about tracking systems or the purchasing process.
Many small companies that only operate a few vehicles often believe that tracking will not be of benefit to them or that these systems cannot save them money as their fleet is too small. In recent years tracking systems, as with most advancing technologies, have been falling price.
The great news for smaller businesses is that tracking is not only now more affordable but also the return on investment that can be achieved is greater. Companies only need to save 1 litre of fuel per day, per vehicle and the tracking system will pay for itself.
Another common reason for companies not proceeding with tracking is that they do not have the capital available to purchase the system. There a variety of ways to fund a tracking system including leasing. This breaks the cost of tracking into small monthly instalments. Companies that purchase a tracking system on a monthly payment basis can achieve a much quicker return on their investment as they only have to save more than they system is costing them each month.
