Motex are a supplier of quality motor components, tools and garage equipment to the motor trade throughout Essex and East London. They have a fleet of vans that deliver parts to customers within targeted time scales, 6 days a week.

Following initial discussions Pregem Mobile attended a meeting with Motex to identify their specific requirements and ensure that the tracking system employed was within their budget. It was key to Motex to not only be able to monitor their vehicles but to also ensure that they remain productive and are using the most efficient routes to reach their customers.

The Installation was organised to keep vehicle downtime to a minimum thus impacting their daily operation as little as possible. At the same time as the installations were taking place onsite training was provided for the office based staff ensuring they were able to use the application and understand the information being fed back.

Due to the nature of Motex’s business they need to be able to react quickly to incoming customer requests for parts. Pregem Mobile’s tracking system allows the office team to quickly identify the best placed vehicle and allocate the job with minimal contact with the driver. Pregem Mobile’s tracking system allows for a rapid response as well as saving money on calls, staff time and improving customer service.

The locations of Motex’s customer base has been uploaded to the tracking system and every time a vehicle is at a customer’s address it will be clearly displayed on the tracking application. This feature, called a POI (Point of Interest), makes identifying a vehicles location a quick and easy process. In addition reports generated by the tracking system allow for furthers analysis of the data enhancing the ability to make informed decisions.

Motex use the tracking application’s ‘Out of Hours’ report which provides information regarding journeys made by their vehicles outside of business hours. This enables Motex to quickly spot excessive personal mileage covered by their drivers. This information is provided within a single report which makes monitoring out of hours mileage quick and easy.

Motex lease their tracking system paying on a monthly instalment basis. As a result, the cost benefits achieved by the tracking system mean Motex has been able to receive an immediate return on investment.
